The Cotopaxi Allpa 42L is a split-case design with one large zipped mesh compartment on one side and two 70/30 zipped mesh pockets on the other (similar to the Decathlon Forclaz Travel 500 Organiser 40). It also has a dedicated rear laptop compartment, sizeable top pocket and a stowable harness system.
Weighing only 1.41 kg, the Allpa is noticeably lighter than many comparable travel packs. It uses recycled materials with a PFC-free water-resistant finish, includes YKK zippers (some lockable) and a padded hip belt, and is backed by Cotopaxi's lifetime warranty.
There are a few compromises, though, too: With a size of 56 x 36 x 27cm, its depth and overall dimensions slightly exceed common international carry-on guidelines. It has no tightening straps or load lifters, and only one water bottle pocket.
