The Peak Design 45L Travel Backpack is a premium pack with an expandable design that allows it to be configured from 30 to 45 litres.
It features a weatherproof, 400D nylon canvas shell with a 900D bottom liner and weatherproof zippers, stowable shoulder straps, and is covered by Peak Design's Lifetime Guarantee. Its expandable side pockets accommodate not only larger water bottles but also tripods. Multiple access points, a large rear laptop compartment and a clamshell opening make packing and retrieving gear quick and convenient. The pack also integrates seamlessly with Peak Design's range of packing cubes and camera cubes.
There are a few compromises, though, too: At 2.05 kg, it is the heaviest pack on our shortlist. Despite its weight, it has no load lifters, and the hip belt costs extra.
