The Tortuga Lite Backpack 40L is a lighter carry-on backpack for travellers who want a full 40-litre pack without the extra weight of the Pro version. It measures 55 × 35 × 20cm (well within common airline check-in limits) and weighs 1.60kg. The clamshell design has a spacious main compartment on one side and two large zippered mesh organiser pockets on the other.
Its travel-focused features include lockable YKK zippers, a padded fleece-lined laptop sleeve for devices up to 16 inches, a top pocket with key clip, flat front pocket, external stretch mesh water bottle pocket, load lifters, sternum strap, tuckable shoulder straps and a removable hip belt.
The Lite uses 630D CORDURA® re/cor™ RN6 nylon and is backed by Tortuga's Worldwide Warranty. The main limitations are its single water bottle pocket and lower weather resistance compared with the Pro.
